Pascal Bruckner is a philosopher and novelist. Born in 1948, he wrote his PhD on sexual emancipation, under the supervision of Roland Barthes. He has published numerous books, both fiction and non-fiction, such as The Tyranny of Guilt. An Essay on Western Masochism (Princeton University Press, 2012) and recently Une brève éternité. Philosophie de la longévité (“A Brief Eternity. A Philosophy of Longevity”, untranslated).
