Behind The Scenes

Highlight:

Mohammed Moheuddin is the Secretary General of PEN Bangladesh Centre. He writes fiction and drama and edits Golpokar, the first monthly literary journal in Bangladesh entirely devoted to fiction. He has been bringing out the monthly Golpokar for over five and a half years now. Golpokar has served and printed about 500 writers to date, out of whom about 100 young writers made their debut in Golpokar.

Moheuddin has published nine novels, one short story book and his tenth novel to be published in January 2021.

His first novel Nishachar Abed Ali which brought controversy among the fundamentalist in the year 2000, won the National Professor Kabir Chowdhury best under 30 literary awards,

Moheuddin strongly condemns the murder and arrest of writers, publishers, bloggers and free thinkers in Bangladesh. He always urges the Government to bring the perpetrators of these brutal crimes to justice and to take action to promote and protect the rights of people to express their views freely. He believes that opinions and ideas can only be countered by opinions and ideas, not by stifling thoughts.
