Tetyana Ogarkova is a scholar, an essayist, and a journalist.

Tetyana Ogarkova, a Ukrainian literary scholar, journalist, and essayist, was born on June 27th, 1979 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region.
She graduated from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University, Department of Cultural Studies. In 2002, she received a scholarship from the French government to study at the Paris XII Val-de-Marne University, and in 2007 she defended her dissertation and acquired a PhD in Literary Studies at the same university.
Her dissertation laid the foundation for a book published in the French language at Peter Lang Publishing House in Bern (Switzerland) in 2010: Une autre avant-garde: la métaphysique, le retour à la tradition et la recherche religieuse dans l'oeuvre de René Daumal et de Daniil Harms (Other Avant Garde: Metaphysics, Return to Tradition and Religious Searches in Works of René Dauma and Daniil Harms).
Since 2006, she has been teaching History of French Literature, Theory of Literature and History of European Literary Avant Garde in Kyiv Mohyla Academy. She writes essays on the history of French literature, history of avant-garde, and theory of literature.
At the beginning of the 2010s, she participated in COIMBRA program in University of Geneva, and Fulbright Academic Exchange (University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR).
In 2013-2013, she actively supported events on the Maidan. Since then, apart from academia and teaching, she is engaged in public and journalistic activity: in 2014-2015 she wrote a series of publications for The Ukrainian Pravda; since 2015 she has been coordinating the international department of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, where she prepares texts about Ukraine for the foreign audience. Since 2015 she has been working as a journalist for hromadske.ua, where she is the author of publications on international topics in the program The World, and since 2019 she has been managing a series of interviews called “Life of Others” about people with diverse life trajectories, choices and values.
