Behind The Scenes

Short description:

Our organisation wants it to be easier to access help. We do this by providing relevant and up-to-date signposting information, and (pre-covid) drop-in specialist sessions with local help organisations. We want to remove barriers to getting help, and reduce the stigma of needing help. Our team ensures that the information we provide is up-to-date, relevant to what the person wants, and in some cases, help the person to access that help (such as introducing them to a local worker). Our dream is to have lots of specialist organisations located in one place (and not just drop-in or appointment sessions that we have at present), so that an individual can come to one place to get a variety of issues addressed.

What's your contribution?

We'd like to contribute ideas, and share what's worked for us.

What brings you here?

Recommended by our local Town Planning Chair, Derek Bottom. He highly recommended us to take part as he thought we'd be able to contribute what's worked for us for the past 6 years and get some excellent new ideas to take forward in our future plans, especially post-Covid.

What's the most important?

The person. We believe our community members should not been seen as a bunch of problems we need to solve, but an individual with ideas and thoughts we can learn from.
