Highlight:

City Sabha is a collective of thinkers, creatives, and activists working towards inclusive and sustainable cities. We seek to create active and usable places by collectively working with stakeholders and local governments.

We work through a combination of research and action, seeking to mobilise change through public engagement (workshops, quantitative research), public space interventions (pop-up, short-term and long-term), research and writing, and impact evaluation.

While the sheer number and diversity of residents in Delhi make regular dialogue and collaborative action a challenging task, we believe that the potential of cities lies in its people, and in the capacity of invisible, everyday innovation. To enable this can lead to powerful change.

Short description:

I am an Urban Researcher and Development Practitioner working with City Sabha to advocate for sustainable and inclusive cities and communities through research and education, action, and advocacy. With a world full of uncertainties, which gets challenging by the year, I dream to be a conscious observer, a proactive citizen and an empathetic member of a society that lives on interdependencies and hope.

What's your contribution?

We could contribute towards writing op-eds by adding an on-ground perspective within the Indian context of city-making.

What brings you here?

We learned about The Empty Square in March of 2021 when the website was underway. Our ideas and values align with yours and we are excited to be a part of a global community of urban changemakers, which makes exchanging of thought and processes accessible and fun!

What's the most important?

Curiosity, first and foremost. Second, matching intention (at any level) with rigorous action, along with people's participation.
