Highlight:

I run an urban regenerative initiative seeded in 2019 by Commune + Co. Cirque du Soil is a hyperlocal circular food waste management and community compost collective initiative actively addressing the missing middle in waste diversion in urban Precincts using a place based framework as an achievable solution to reducing our impact on the planet. Our mission is to reduce and divert organic food waste going to landfill, process them locally into high nutrient biodiverse composted fertiliser, and returning it back to regenerate soil in our local communities.

Short description:

I have a background in Architecture, Placemaking and Regenerative design - and believe regenerative, circular and benefit mindsets are the keys to driving systemic change to create thriving ecosystems in our cities. Everything I do revolves around climate emergency but I'm also big on localism, place, people and communities, tempered with a global outlook from decades of travel; there are an incredible number of initiatives and projects happening elsewhere globally to inspire, feed the knowledge commons through shared experiences. My hope for the next decade is that multiple factions will incite rapid changes to mitigate and avoid a climate apocalypse, which can only occur with wide reaching community level action on a global scale - here's to supporting the power of people than there is in just depending on Governments and policy change.

What's your contribution?

I bring my hybrid knowledge bank of urban research and design, circular economy policy and research, circular business model design and implementation, placemaking and alternative waste solutions for urban precincts. Feel free to get in touch if you want to talk all things regenerative, buildings, cities and collaborative projects.

What brings you here?

I want to thank The Empty Square's co-founder, Simon, for creating a fantastic initiative showcasing like-minded communities around the globe, and I look forward to meeting and sharing stories with aligned members of a tribe who all believe in the same cause!

What's the most important?

As Simon has eloquently summarised (and something I resonate with): to create new conversations to recreate the balance - Economically, socially, culturally, mentally, environmentally, spiritually.
